Title: Anechoic Chamber – Create Controlled Sound Field for Acoustic Testing

When conducting acoustic research and material performance testing, ambient noise and reflected sound waves within the space may affect measurement readings. To obtain test data that reflects the true acoustic performance of products, a dedicated testing space that reduces sound reflection is essential, and an anechoic chamber serves as such an acoustic engineering solution. Different from ordinary rooms, the walls, floor and ceiling of an anechoic chamber are fitted with high-performance sound absorbing structures, which absorb incoming sound waves and lower sound reflection inside the space, forming an environment similar to a free sound field to support various acoustic measurement tests. The construction of this kind of laboratory needs to take enclosure sound insulation, foundation vibration isolation and absorber layout into consideration, to limit external vibration and noise transmission and maintain stable testing conditions.

Many acoustic enterprises and third-party testing institutes utilise anechoic chambers for research and measurement. They can be applied to acoustic characteristic tests of loudspeakers, microphones, earphones and other electroacoustic components, noise evaluation of motors and small household appliances, as well as calibration tests for acoustic sensors. Some home appliance R&D laboratories in China carry out preliminary noise tests for new products inside anechoic chambers, compare acoustic performance of different structural solutions repeatedly, helping engineers adjust housing structures and internal vibration reduction design to improve acoustic quality. Testing organisations also use such spaces to collect measured data of acoustic materials, supporting the design of building acoustic schemes and electronic product noise reduction solutions. In Singapore and Southeast Asia, many electronics manufacturers build anechoic chambers to verify acoustic performance of consumer electronic products, complying with local testing standards and supporting performance validation before product launch to overseas markets.

Testing objects, frequency requirements and site conditions vary among clients from different industries, so one-size-fits-all laboratory solutions are not suitable. We can deliver customised design, component manufacturing and on-site installation of anechoic chambers according to site conditions, test types, working frequency bands and relevant domestic and international standards. Acoustic performance tuning and acceptance testing services are also available. During project implementation, our team monitors construction details and controls the delivery quality of sound insulation, vibration isolation and sound absorption systems. We help clients build acoustic laboratories suitable for their own experiments, and support continuous product development and testing operations.
